From the sandy beaches to the quaint Alaskan shops, Homer offers activities for everyone. As you round the last corner on the Seward highway, a stunning view of Kachemak Bay and the snow-covered peaks of the Kenai Mountain Range take your breath away. Sprawling out into the bay is the world-renowned Homer “Spit” containing beaches, a boat harbor, Alaskan gift shops, and excellent restaurants.
The friendly atmosphere, beautiful scenery, and excellent fishing have coined Homer with many different tag lines such as “The Halibut Fishing Capital of the World” and “The Cosmic Hamlet by the Sea.” Its electric atmosphere has been shown on "Alaska: The Last Frontier” with the Kiltcher family and on "Deadliest Catch" with the F/V Time Bandit. The unique combination of location, commerce, beauty, and wilderness makes Homer a one-of-a-kind place to visit!
