Kachemak Bay Tour
Within Katmai National Park lies the world-famous Brooks Falls. Fly via floatplane to Naknek Lake where you will begin an extraordinary tour starting from the Visitor Center where you will receive a safety briefing. Potential to see bears in their natural environment begins before the plane pulls up on the beach! During the height of salmon season, it is possible to see 50 or more brown bears feeding in the river only a few feet from the observation platforms.
The falls, as indicated by the red star on the map, is located in between Lake Brooks and Naknek Lake. As salmon swim upriver between the two, they are forced to jump the falls. Here, many are caught by eager brown bears waiting for their next mid-air meal!
Not only does this trip offer the potential to see incredible bears, but the flight holds a beauty of its own. There are several active volcanoes including Douglas, Augustine, and Illiamna that we fly in proximity to on our way. Cascading down the side of Mount Douglas is Spotted Glacier with its beautiful blue ice. The iconic Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes is located nearby as well with its carved landscape!
Ring of Fire Tour

After a short safety brief, you’ll climb aboard and take off on an extraordinary 2.5 hour trip across Cook Inlet to see Ring of Fire volcanoes Mt Redoubt, Mt Iliamna, Mt Augustine, and Mt Douglas.
