Andrew serves as our Chief Pilot at Northwind Aviation! His passion for aviation began at a young age, and he earned his private pilot certificate at 17 years old! Andrew grew up in Nashville, TN and commissioned into the Army as a military police officer after college. He then served at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage. While in the Army, in between deployment, he completed his commercial certificates for both land and sea airplanes. He also earned his flight instructor certificate and began working part-time as a flight instructor. After leaving the Army in 2016, Andrew began working full time as a commercial pilot.
He moved to Homer in 2017, and has since flown thousands of hours in Kachemak Bay and along the western Cook Inlet and Katmai coasts. Andrew is also passionate about bears, and has acted as a lead bear viewing guide in Katmai and Lake Clark National Parks! His constant focus is on aviation safety, and he is currently completing his Master’s of Science in Aeronautics with concentrations in aviation safety and aviation education through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Andrew is married to his wife Jessica, and they recently had their first baby girl! He is thrilled to be flying for Northwind and is excited to take you on your next Alaska adventure!
